Noeleen Cohen elected to lead Progressive Judaism’s trustees

The chair designate will succeed Dr Ed Kessler at the Movement’s December AGM.

Noeleen Cohen has been elected incoming Chair of Trustees of The Movement for Progressive Judaism, according to an announcement from the organisation.

Representatives of member communities elected her at an Extraordinary General Meeting on 29 September. She will work alongside current chair Dr Ed Kessler MBE before formally taking over at the AGM on 2 December.

Cohen is a member of Alyth, also known as North Western Reform Synagogue, and has more than 20 years of experience in charity governance. She chairs New Israel Fund UK and is Vice-Chair of Citizens UK.

The Movement’s co-leads welcomed her appointment and thanked Kessler for his contribution to establishing the unified organisation.
